Currently, Minnesota facilities with air permits voluntarily report emissions of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs, also known as air toxics) every three years to the MPCA. Discussions are under way to make this reporting annual and mandatory.
MPCA held a webinar about the current Minnesota air toxics reporting structure and what a potential mandatory reporting requirement could include.
What we heard
Through the webinar and subsequent comment period, MPCA heard from more than 60 Minnesotans and organizations.
Next steps
The MPCA is considering the input received during this informal comment period. If the MPCA moves forward with a proposal to make air toxics reporting mandatory, we’ll send notifications and there will be additional opportunities for public input.
