The MPCA is collaborating with the Midwest Assistance Program, Minnesota Rural Water, and staff at the Minnesota Technical Assistance Program to provide technical assistance to small, rural, and tribal wastewater facilities. This work is made possible by funding from the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The program will provide outreach and technical assistance to small, rural, or tribal wastewater facilities focusing on: permitting support; financial assistance guidance; pollutant identification and reduction plans; building technical managerial and financial (TMF) capacity; technical evaluation of facility operations; optimization; climate resiliency; and energy efficiency solutions.
Technical assistance available
During an initial two-year period MPCA staff will focus on outreach and assistance to 10-20 small, rural, or tribal wastewater facilities. Technical assistance that can be provided:
