Global: New online service for solid waste permits
Prevention icon

The MPCA will soon be rolling out a new online service for solid waste permits and approvals. Content on this page is tied to that service and may not yet be completely operational.

An individual solid waste permit is tailored to a specific solid waste facility or activity.

Applications

Facilities seeking individual permits must submit their permit applications using the Solid Waste Permitting & Approvals Online Service. The online service process includes a series of forms to be completed for each waste activity occurring at the facility. In addition, applicants will need to prepare supplemental facility plans to attach in the online service.

Application signatures

All permittees must sign a solid waste permit application. The online services provides fields for one signature for each permittee type (activity owner, operator, and landowner). Facilities with more than one person or organization for a permittee type will need to complete this form:

Application checklists

Application checklists must be submitted with the corresponding plan to ensure all the necessary information is included within the plan. The location of the required information should be documented to help expedite the technical review of the application.

Application supplemental forms

The following application forms must be submitted in the online service to supplement required information the online service application process does not currently capture.
