Permit issuance
A permit issuance is the initial individual permit issued to a solid waste management facility. An individual permit is issued for a term not to exceed ten years and contains conditions necessary for the permittee to achieve compliance with applicable state and federal statutes or rules and any conditions the agency determines are necessary to protect human health and the environment. These include requirements for design, operation, and monitoring.
For an initial permit issuance of a municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill, a preliminary application may also be necessary.
Permit reissuance
Prior to the expiration of an existing individual solid waste permit, a permittee may request the permit be reissued to continue operations. The permit reissuance application may request modifications to the design or operations of an existing permitted facility.
