The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an air quality alert for northeast Minnesota. The alert takes effect at 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, and runs until 6 p.m. on Friday, May 30. The affected area includes Two Harbors, Hibbing, Ely, Duluth, and the Tribal Nations of Grand Portage and Fond du Lac. Air quality is expected to reach the red AQI category which is unhealthy for everyone.
