The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency will be holding a webinar to discuss a current grant program that has nearly $8.5 million to award for refrigeration projects where existing refrigeration systems are replaced with equipment using a natural refrigerant such as, but not limited to, carbon dioxide, propane or ammonia. Two funding rounds will occur.
In this initial rolling request for proposals (RFP), $5 million is available for projects at businesses, nonprofits, governmental entities, tribes and educational institutions with retail food and cold storage refrigeration systems.
The grant program aims to replace larger refrigeration systems using high global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants with equipment that uses cleaner, low GWP refrigerants.
This RFP will remain open, and applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all dedicated funds have been dispersed or until 4 p.m. Central Time on Thursday, May 27, 2027, whichever occurs first.
