Current job: Project coordinator, H2O for Life
As a 2014-15 Minnesota GreenCorps member at H20 for Life (White Bear Lake), Sarah educated students and the community about local water resources and conservation. Among other endeavors, she created curriculum, taught in classrooms, and shared her leaning and achievements at conferences and meetings.
Shortly following her Minnesota GreenCorps experience, Sarah’s host site hired her to be project coordinator for the Race 2 Reduce educational water campaign. In her position, she collaborates closely with two school districts in the White Bear Lake area to move the campaign initiative forward.
Local media attention and visibility for the program was a highlight of her service, says Sarah. “Working with students and experiencing their excitement for learning, the environment, and caring for water resources was also very inspiring."
For those considering Minnesota GreenCorps service, Sarah had this to say: “Take an opportunity to learn more about it! It is a phenomenal opportunity to gain real-world experience in the environmental field, build connections with key people to expand your network, hone valuable skills, and be in a rewarding position."
