About me. I grew up around Boston, Mass., before coming to Minnesota to attend Macalester College (Saint Paul). I majored in Environmental Studies with a minor in biology, and decided to move to Minneapolis after graduating in May.
About my service. I am a member of the Living Green track, hosted by Climate Generation: A Will Steger Legacy. My service focuses on youth engagement in climate change. In the Twin Cities, I work with a group called YEA! MN (Youth Environmental Activists of MN), a network of passionate youth interested in climate change and social justice, to work on action projects in high schools and communities. In greater Minnesota, I am currently working to develop a program called Youth Convening Minnesota, where youth in five communities will organize a community-wide public convening on climate change in the spring.
Why I serve. I think that climate change is one of the most pressing issues today, and I want to be a part of the solutions. MN GreenCorps is a great opportunity to engage in environmental solutions and make a difference in Minnesota, while developing valuable skills and work experience.
My favorite place to visit in Minnesota. Lake of the Isles is one of my favorite places to go in the Twin Cities, but I also recently visited Ely and loved being up north during fall to see all the colors of the trees.
