About me. I moved to Minneapolis over 3 years ago from Omaha, Nebraska, where I grew up. After graduating from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, I worked for an architecture and engineering company for six years when I decided I was ready for a change and career move.
About my service. I am serving at Eureka Recycling in the Waste Prevention & Recycling track. My work is focused on community outreach and engagement. Throughout my service year, I will be gathering information from community members on what they want to know more about regarding waste prevention and then creating educational materials based on that feedback.
Why I serve. I wanted to get more involved in my community and explore a career in sustainability. GreenCorps has given me a lot of opportunities to network with others in areas of sustainability and to explore issues in our community that are contributing to climate change. It’s important to me to be a part of something that’s more than just a job and to feel like I’m making even a small difference.
My favorite place to visit in Minnesota. Grand Marais and the North Shore. It’s a stunning area and I love the drive north from the cities!
