Participants will learn how to integrate science with practical winter maintenance while minimizing impacts on the environment.
- Audience: city, county, or state winter maintenance professionals
- Upon completion of training and passing the test issued at the end of training, you will earn a Smart Salting certification that expires 5 years from the date of training.

This is a private training hosted locally by the Central Minnesota Water Education Alliance (CMWEA) and the MPCA chloride reduction program. Funding for training development is provided by MPCA through the Clean Water Fund.
Host a training or workshop. The Smart Salting training program is rooted in partnerships with local organizations to host trainings. Host responsibilities include advertising the training, providing a venue if hosting an in-person training, and covering a portion of the cost of the training.
