Smart Salting: Parking lots & Sidewalks Certification training with Level 2 option

Participants will learn how to integrate science with practical winter maintenance while minimizing impacts on the environment.

  • Audience: private winter maintenance companies, city park, hospital and school winter maintenance professionals
  • Upon completion of Parking lots & Sidewalks training and passing the test issued at the end of training, you will earn a Smart Salting certification that expires 5 years from the date of training.
  • Managers, supervisors, owners, or those that are familiar with the organization’s overall winter-maintenance practices can stay to attend the Level 2 Smart Salting Tool Organizational Certification training (1:30-4:30 p.m.) that walks through how to submit assessments using the Smart Salting Tool to earn the Level 2 Certification.

Registration information

This training is hosted by the Institute for Environmental Assessment, Inc. and the MPCA Chloride Reduction Program. Partial funding is provided by MPCA through the Clean Water Fund and the Environmental and Natural Resources Trust Fund.
