Odor rulemaking

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is in the process of developing rules around odors for the seven-county metro area. If a facility has been determined as having emitted an objectionable odor, the facility must come up with an odor management plan.

Come to a virtual meeting on Thursday, May 28 at 6 p.m. to learn more about the odor management rulemaking and how you can be involved. At this webinar the MPCA will:

  • review the statute from the Legislature in 2023 which directed the MPCA to create an odor management rule
  • evaluate the research and rule concept development the MPCA has completed
  • discuss what engagement will look like for this rule in 2026
