The MPCA will hold public meetings to discuss the content of the 2026 Impaired Waters List with special focus on watersheds assessed in the last two years. Meetings will be recorded and posted on the MPCA web site.
This meeting will focus on the state's northern region, including watersheds for Red Lake River, Grand Marais Creek, Thief River, Sandhill River, and Lake of the Woods.

Public review and comments help ensure MPCA assessments are accurate on the draft Impaired Waters List, Statewide mercury TMDL list, and assessment manual (which includes the identified list of wild rice waters). The comment period closed July 22, 2026; the MPCA will respond to comments submitted online.
