Air toxics regulations webinar

The MPCA is creating new air toxics regulations that will go beyond current state and federal standards. The proposed rules will apply to industrial facilities in the Twin Cities metro area, setting stricter requirements on air toxics that can cause serious health issues. A key focus of the rulemaking is environmental justice, so the MPCA is emphasizing public engagement through meetings, hearings, and comment periods to promote transparency and inclusivity. The new rules will establish clear, enforceable standards, requiring facilities to monitor, report, and comply with stricter pollution requirements to improve air quality.

At this webinar we will:

  • discuss the schedule for the rule
  • discuss draft rule concepts and specifically provide an overview of draft air toxics screening thresholds, their development, and the screening process
  • ask new, more specific questions for feedback from the public

There will be a survey available for 30 days after the meeting to provide comments.
