Smart Salting: Community leaders workshop

This workshop helps community leaders understand the impacts of chloride on infrastructure and water resources and provide them with resources and specific action steps to make policy changes in their communities to reduce salt pollution.

Who should attend: city council members, board members of watershed districts or housing associations, state legislators, and other local decision-makers who are not directly involved in road salt application or water softener use but could benefit from learning about the advantages of Smart Salting.

This training is hosted by GreenStep Cities and Tribal Nations and the MPCA Chloride Reduction Program. Funding is provided by MPCA through the Clean Water Fund and the Environmental and Natural Resources Trust Fund.
