Air quality

Eco Experience will be back at the 2020 State Fair: August 27 – September 7

Keeping our air clean is everyone’s job. The air quality exhibit features a “Green Garage” that contains displays and ideas of things people can incorporate into their garage that have a positive impact on the environment. Battery-powered equipment, including a mower, snow blower, string trimmer, chain saw, leaf blower, etc. are on display and include messaging about lower emissions, less noise and maintenance, and ease of use. Additional messages about air quality, vehicle tampering, and electric vehicles will be part of the air quality exhibit.

What you can see and do

Mitsubishi OutlanderElectric vehicles are in the Air Quality area this year, where there will be a Tesla Model 3, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, charging infrastructure and an interactive touchscreen map of charging stations.

The Mitsubishi Outlander hybrid has fast-charge capability, charging up to 80% in under a half hour at CHAdeMO public charging stations, and runs at 74 MPGe.

The Tesla Model 3 has a 310-mile range on a single charge and recharges 180 miles in 15 minutes at any Supercharger location.

New this year is the Green Garage, where you can learn about EV charging options and ways to reduce air pollution and save money in your home garage. Turn on the electric mower to hear how quiet it is.  Observe the difference in air quality between an electric and gas mower.
