This project addresses Bald Eagle Lake, which is impaired due to excess nutrients. Rice Creek Watershed District is taking the technical lead in both developing this TMDL study and coordinating implementation activities to restore this water body.
Once plagued by algal blooms and murky water, Bald Eagle Lake in the northern Twin Cities near Hugo is now much healthier — meeting state water quality standards for the first time in 37 years.
