Minnesota's household hazardous waste (HHW) program is a partnership between Minnesota Counties and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Together we provide education, storage and disposal information, as well as maintain a network of regional, local and mobile facilities to collect HHW statewide. Each county in Minnesota has a HHW Program. Some have year round facilities with regular hours that are open to the public to drop off waste, while others have seasonal facilities or events.
Your county solid waste, recycling and household waste programs can help you find local collection options for some types HHW if the county does not operate a year round facility. Each county facility has differing hours of operation, slightly different lists of materials they will accept, and “no-touch” drop off protocol. Please go to your county’s website and search for solid waste or HHW to find information on your county’s program.
