2016: Member - Jenna Lewein

2016 GreenCorps member: Jenna LeweinAbout me. Born and raised in West Allis, Wisconsin. I attended the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, where I majored in Chinese and Environmental Science while representing the Gophers as a member of the Women's Cross Country and Track teams. After living in Minneapolis for several years, I moved up to St. Cloud to begin my Minnesota GreenCorps service.

About my service. This is my second year at my host site. I serve at Camp Ripley (Little Falls, Minn.) assisting with energy conservation and renewable energy projects. My service last year included reviewing Minnesota Army National Guard sites for solar energy potential and coordinating a vending-miser installation campaign with over 60 facilities. This year, my projects include the creation of an energy-efficiency awareness survey, the design an online Net Zero education course, and the thermal analysis of building envelopes.

Why I serve. I saw Minnesota GreenCorps as an opportunity to gain valuable skills in my desired field while participating in service work that allows me to implement real change at my host site.

My favorite place to visit in Minnesota. I love going to Nordeast Minneapolis because there is always something to do! There are some great taprooms and restaurants, plus local shops and events like Art-A-Whirl.
