About me. I grew up near Moorhead and attended Concordia College. I spent semesters in Chongqing, China, and Washington, D.C., and graduated in 2015 with majors in Political Science, Global Studies, and Chinese. In my free time I enjoy biking, running, camping, hiking, skating, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding.
About my service. I serve as a Green Transportation Corps Member with PartnerSHIP 4 Health, based at Clay County Public Health in Moorhead. My role is to promote and facilitate healthy and green forms of transportation, primarily walking and biking. Some of my projects include preparations to expand Fargo’s Great Rides bike share system into Moorhead, coordinating the second year of the Shovel Dilworth campaign, working on bicycle initiatives with Concordia College and MSUM, and helping with StreetsAlive!, an annual open streets event held in downtown Moorhead and Fargo.
Why I serve. Minnesota is a great place to enjoy and appreciate the natural world. Growing up here, I have always cared about the environment, but my interest in and knowledge of environmental issues grew during my time in college. After graduating, GreenCorps was a great opportunity to give back to both Moorhead and Minnesota as a whole, and gain experience working in the field of green and active transportation.
My favorite place to visit in Minnesota. Minnesota’s north shore, especially the area around Lutsen.
