St. Paul, Minn. – The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) invites the public to review and comment on an Environmental Assessment Worksheet for wastewater infrastructure improvements at a Metropolitan Council site in Eagan.

Met Council has proposed enhancements to a wastewater lift station in Eagan, including larger pumps and the addition of a 24” pipe under Nichols Road. The project would increase the lift station's capacity so that it can meet future demands; however, no increase in flow is expected at this time. The project site is in a commercial and industrial area north of Highway 13 and east of Highway 77/Cedar Avenue.

The purpose of an Environmental Assessment Worksheet is to describe the ways in which a proposed project could affect air, water, land use, habitat, and other environmental concerns. The document helps the MPCA determine whether a more in-depth environmental review process is needed for a given process.

Comments on the Environmental Assessment Worksheet should be submitted in writing by 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 13, to Kevin Kain, MPCA, 520 Lafayette Road N., Saint Paul, MN 55155-4194 or by fax to 651-297-2343.  To review the EAW or for more information, visit http://www.pca.state.mn.us/oxpg691.
