SBEAP has developed a series of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to help small businesses determine if they need an air emissions permit and/or track compliance with their current air emissions permit. Some spreadsheets will require manipulation to best represent the materials used at each facility.

Abrasive blasting. Determine potential emissions for blasting activities.

Aggregate, non-metallic minerals. Determine potential and actual emissions at sand and gravel operations using the air emissions calculator and record compliance with the general non-metallic mineral processing permit with the compliance calendar.

Asphalt. Track actual monthly emissions from hot mix asphalt plants.

Boilers. Determine potential and actual emissions for permits for natural gas, fuel oil, propane, coal and wood-fired boilers.

Coating and auto body facilities. Calculate annual volatile organic compound (VOC) and hazardous air pollutant (HAP) total emissions for conditionally exempt coating and auto body facilities.

Coatings/painting. Determine actual air emissions from painting and coating operations.

Commercial lawn mowers. Estimate air pollution from large commercial gasoline lawn mowers.

Electroplating. Determine potential emissions for an electroplating shop.

Engines. Determine potential and actual emissions from diesel and gasoline engines and natural gas turbines for permitting purposes.

Gasoline storage tank. Estimate emissions reductions from installing Stage 1 Vapor Recovery on a storage tank that dispenses gasoline blends.

Grain elevators and feed mills. Determine potential and actual air emissions from a grain elevator or feed mill for permitting purposes.

Hazardous air pollutants and air toxics. Search for HAPs and other air toxics by name or CAS number.

Insignificant facility potential to emit tool. Use this spreadsheet to calculate emissions to help determine eligibility as an insignificant facility under Minn. R. 7008.2600.

Mechanical finishing. Use this spreadsheet to calculate emissions to help determine applicability under Minn. R. 7008.4110 as a conditionally insignificant activity.

Passenger car to electric vehicle. Estimates emissions reductions from converting miles normally driven in an internal combustion engine gasoline passenger car to miles in an electric vehicle.

Printing. Calculate actual emissions from printing operations.

Registration Option C. Track use of boilers, engines, and VOC-containing material to calculate your Option C eligibility number.

Registration Option D. Calculate and track 12-month rolling sums.

Small engines. Estimate air pollution from gasoline-2 cycle oil powered hand-held equipment (e.g., chainsaws, leafblowers, and weedwackers, etc.)

Storage tanks. Determine potential and actual air emissions for various storage tanks.

Woodworking facility. Use this spreadsheet to calculate emissions to help determine eligibility under Minn. R. 7008.2500 as a conditionally exempt source.
