New “Plants for Stormwater Design” is helpful field guide
for landscape designers
How
do you achieve beauty, functionality and clean water through landscape
design? “Plants for Stormwater Design” is a new publication
funded by the EPA and MPCA that offers specific, detailed suggestions
on selecting appropriate species for all design environments while
protecting water-quality and mitigating storm-water runoff. Authors
Daniel Shaw, ecologist/landscape designer with Great River Greening,
and Rusty Schmidt, a natural resource and ecology consultant with
URS, provide more than 300 examples of plants that work for the environment
and how to locate, install and maintain them.
Although copies of the guide are no longer available, an electronic
version of it is.
