The MPCA staff helps counties, cities and townships develop systems that recover resources and manage waste to reduce environmental impact. The goal is to reduce, reuse, recycle and recover resources from waste generated by Minnesota's residents and businesses.

Report on SCORE Programs
The SCORE Report is an annual evaluation of Minnesota's recycling and waste management programs. The most recent edition is the Report on 2007 SCORE Programs (January 2009).
Data on Minnesota's Recycling and MSW Disposal
Use MPCA's online databases to find out how many tons of recyclables—glass, metals, organics, paper, plastic, textiles and more—were collected for recycling, statewide or in your county. Data are also available for disposal of municipal solid waste (MSW or garbage) around the state.
Stop Back Yard Burning of Trash
Burn barrels pose a threat to human health and the environment. This page is devoted to resources and information for counties and local governments that are working reduce or eliminate the on-site burning and disposal of trash.
Environmental Purchasing
Information about buying environmentally responsible products that have a reduced effect on human health and the environment. Includes a searchable directory of Minnesota products made from recycled materials. Also includes links to the state procurement office and other organizations involved with environmental purchasing.
MnGREAT! Award
The MnGREAT! Award — Minnesota Government Reaching Environmental Achievements Together — recognizes environmental acheivements by government employees. The program focuses on the prevention of waste and pollution, the reduction of waste at its source, and resource conservation.
