The Governor's Awards for Pollution Prevention
The Governor's Awards for Pollution Prevention recognize Minnesota's businesses, nonprofits, private institutions, and governmental institutions that demonstrate a superior commitment to waste and pollution prevention, source reduction and resource conservation.
Accomplishments must go beyond traditional waste management practices, focusing instead on preventing, reducing and reusing through innovative and creative strategies.
Eligible projects fall into three categories:
- Business/nonprofit: Businesses, institutions, and non-profit organizations (private)
- Government: Governmental institutions and organizations (public)
- Partnership: Partnerships of multiple organizations; public/private, private/private, or public/public partnerships
2010-2011 awards
Winning projects were announced at the Eco Experience exhibit at the 2011 Minnesota State Fair.
