Wastewater treatment and disposal is an important part of our need to protect and preserve Minnesota's water resources. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency plays an active role in this need through a variety of programs. This webpage is structured to provide rapid access to our assistance and requirements to help us work together to meet this common goal.

NOTE:  To improve coordination of government services, the Sanitary Districts program was transferred to the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH), Municipal Boundary Adjustment Unit (MBAU) during the 2013 Legislative Session. Minn. Stat. §§ 115.18 through 115.37 have been repealed. Sanitary district boundary adjustments are now governed by Minn. Stat. § 442A (currently available electronically as Minnesota Session Laws Chapter 114, Article 5). The following materials, referring to Minn. Stat. §§ 115.18-115.37, are for reference only. Please refer to Minn. Stat. § 442A for the most current information.

The MBAU-OAH has staff available to answer questions relating to sanitary district boundary adjustments. Contact information can be found on the MBAU website.
