Watershed funding opportunities
Funding opportunities for watershed projects around the state are available through federal and state funds. These funds are awarded through either competitive watershed grants (such as Federal Section 319 and State Clean Water Partnership) or non-competitive (for Clean Water Fund dollars) processes.
Watershed grants:
Projects receive grant funding through a competitive process. For more information visit the Section 319 and CWP web page.
Non-competitive watershed contracts:
Clean Water Funds distributed typically through a selection process based on:
- Watershed approach 10-year cycle
- Readiness of local partner
- MPCA and local capacity
For more information, visit the Non-competitive watershed contracts page.
