History of SSTS Rules

Below are the SSTS rules for 2008 and 2006.  For rules prior to 2006, please contact the SSTS staff.

    • 1/8-inch perforations allowed
    • 3 foot spacing of pressure laterals and perforations
    • Cleanouts on pressure laterals
    • Flow measurement with a pump
    • 12 inches of soil cover over the soil dispersal system
    • Coarse sand = no treatment
    • Sandy soils must be pressurized
    • No more Designer I category
    • Flows provided for Other Establishments
    • Ground water mounding for MSTS
    • Increased soils training — 6 hours of continuing education every 3 years
    • Mentorship
    • Three soil borings for new construction, soil pit required
    • Must do field inspection for new construction
