Stormwater Program for Industrial Activity: Steps to Compliance
Step 7: Follow applicable permit/sector-specific Requirements
How do I comply with my sector requirements?
What makes the Industrial Stormwater Permit unique are the sector-specific requirements. The permit allows for distinctive requirements by type of industry, and recognizes that various sectors have unique situations as well as different pollutants of concern. Take a look below for the specific requirements per sector, plus guidance information for each sector.
Step 7a:
View and comply with the entire Industrial Stormwater Multi-Sector General Permit. Part VII is below, divided by the 29 sector parts.
Step 7b: Read the elements within the sector-specific requirements:
What’s in each MPCA Sector Specific Permit Requirement document?
Each document contains additional specific permit requirements beyond the general permit:
- Authorized Stormwater Discharges
- Industrial Activities Authorized by Sector
- Limitations on Authorization
- Sector-Specific Definitions
- Stormwater Controls
- SWPPP Requirements
- Monitoring and Reporting Requirements (including monitoring parameters)
- Use of Infiltration Devices and/or Industrial Stormwater Ponds for Stormwater Treatment and Disposal
- Mercury Minimization Plan (if applicable)
