TMDL Project: Sauk River Horseshoe Chain of Lakes - Excessive Nutrients
This project addresses the excessive nutrient impairment of the Sauk River Chain of Lakes, a reservoir system of thirteen lakes along the Sauk River in Stearns County. The Sauk River Watershed District (SRWD) will assist the MPCA with the TMDL study.

On public notice
Beginning September 8, 2014, the MPCA will be accepting comments on proposed site-specific water quality standards for Sauk River Chain of Lakes in Stearns County. This re-notice is identical to the July 28, 2014 notice, with the exception of the addition of Bolfing Lake to the tables. The technical document supporting the site-specific standards was also edited to include Bolfing on Table 2 (page 18). Information pertaining to the site-specific standard is available in the following document:

Note that comments received during the July 28 public comment period will still be considered. Comments received during the September 8 comment period may pertain to any part of this notice and the site-specific standard technical document, not just the amended portions. Written comments on the proposed site-specific standard must be postmarked or received by the MPCA contact person listed below by 4:30 P.M. on October 8, 2014.
