Minnesota's Impaired Waters and TMDLs

TMDL Project: North Fork Lower Crow River — Bacteria, Turbidity and Dissolved Oxygen

Background

This project addresses eight impairments in the North Fork and Lower Crow River, including: 5 dissolved oxygen, 2 turbidity, and 1 bacteria impairment. The project area starts at the Koronis Lake outlet and continues to the confluence of the Mississippi River. The Crow River Organization of Water (CROW) is an active partner in this TMDL. Phase I of the project was completed on August 7, 2008 and additional monitoring took place during Phase II which concluded in 2010. Phase III included the modeling, public meetings and producing the TMDL report.
