TMDL Project: Comfort Lake-Forest Lake Watershed District Impaired Lakes — Excess Nutrients

Background

The Comfort Lake - Forest Lake Watershed District (CLFLWD) Impaired Lakes TMDL is a watershed based TMDL, which addresses seven impaired lakes within the St. Croix River Basin.  This chain of lakes is located within Chisago and Washington County.  These lakes include Comfort, Birch, Bone, Moody, School, Shields, and Little Comfort.  Not all of these lakes are listed as impaired for excess nutrients (Phosphorus); but they are a chain of lakes with each one impacting the others.

The Comfort Lake Chain is located northeast of Forest Lake, in Chisago and Washington Counties
