Minnesota's Impaired Waters and TMDLs
TMDL Project: Brown's Creek — Lack of Cold Water Assemblage and Impaired Biota
Background
Brown's Creek is a designated trout stream which flows within Washington County and the city of Stillwater before entering the St. Croix River. In 2002, Brown's Creek (from the headwaters to 110th Street) was listed on the Federal 303 (d) list as Impaired for Biota (Fish and Macro-Invertebrates). In 2008, after further research and data collection, it was decided that Brown's Creek (from 110th Street to the St. Croix River) is impaired for Lack of Coldwater Assemblage.
