TMDL Project: Chippewa River — Un-ionized Ammonia
Background
The lower 11.2-mile segment of the Chippewa River, from Dry Weather Creek to its confluence with the Minnesota River near Montevideo, was listed as impaired due to elevated concentrations of un-ionized ammonia. The TMDL report was approved by the EPA on October 29, 2004. The impaired segment of the Chippewa River was delisted in 2006 due to reductions in un-ionized ammonia from the Montevideo waste water treatment plant.

The Chippewa River is located in the Minnesota River Basin.
