Minnesota's Impaired Waters and TMDLs
TMDL Project: Zumbro River Watershed — Turbidity
Background
The Zumbro River Watershed TMDL includes thirteen listings for turbidity. The majority of turbidity listings were added to the 2006 303(d) Impaired Waters List as a result of analysis of Citizen Stream Monitoring Program (CSMP) transparency data. To complete this project, the MPCA has contracted with Barr Engineering Inc, an environmental engineering firm. The Zumbro Watershed Partnership has also been involved in this project. Field work and data collection are currently underway.
Map and location
The Zumbro River watershed is located within the Lower Mississippi River Basin and includes parts of Olmsted, Dodge, Goodhue, Rice, Wabasha, and Steele Counties, near the City of Rochester. To view the following impaired stream reaches included in this project, see the
