Minnesota's Impaired Waters and TMDLs

TMDL Project: Nemadji River - Turbidity

Background

This project addresses 1 impairment for turbidity from the headwaters of the Nemadji River to Lake Superior.  The Carlton County Soil and Water Conservation District is currently in the process of developing a workplan for this project.  The Draft TMDL is targeted to be completed by 2012.

Map and location

The Nemadji River is located within the Nemadji River Watershed, in the southern portion of the Lake Superior Basin in northern Minnesota.
