Current Meetings and Events

  • TMDL impacts on stormwater permits, Thursday, April 19, 2012, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the MPCA St. Paul office, lower level Board Room, 520 Lafayette Road.  MPCA staff will present information on how the draft TMDL reports may affect municipalities with stormwater permits. This presentation is open to the public.
  • Thursday, March 29, 2012, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. — Members of the South Metro Mississippi Stakeholder Advisory Committee and Science Advisory Panel are invited to a recognition event and TMDL update, including lunch, at the St. James Hotel in Red Wing. Information on this project is on the South Metro Mississippi River TMDL Project webpage.
  • Wednesday, March 21, 2012 — Members of the Minnesota River Turbidity TMDL Advisory Committee and Sediment Reduction Advisory Committee are invited to a recognition event and TMDL update from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., including lunch, at the Redwood Area Community Center in Redwood Falls. Following lunch there will be optional small group conversation on specific aspects of the TMDL report. Information on this project is on the Minnesota River Turbidity TMDL Project webpage.
  • Clean Water Council meeting, Monday, March 19, 2012 — 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the MPCA St. Paul office, lower level Board Room, 520 Lafayette Road North. Bob Finley, regional watershed manager for the MPCA, will present an overview of the South Metro Mississippi and Minnesota river TMDL projects. This presentation is open to teh public.   • November 29, 2011, Carver and Bevens Creek Turbidity TMDL public meeting, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Carver County Government Center located at 604 East 4th St., Chaska. Use entrance numbered 6 & 7 for the Carver County Justice Center and follow the signs downstairs to the meeting.   • September 28, 2011, North Fork Crow River TMDL public meeting, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Wright County Courthouse, Buffalo, Room 120A.  Information on this project is on the Lower Crow River, North Fork TMDL Project webpage.

  • June 21, 2011, Ann and Emma Lake Nutrient TMDL Project public meeting at 6:00 p.m. at the Victor Town Hall located approximately 1.5 miles south of Howard Lake on County Road 6.
  • June 8, 2011, Buffalo Creek TMDL meeting to recap the public meeting of May 24, 2011 and discuss best management practices that will help Buffalo Creek meet state water quality standards for bacteria.   • May 4, 2011, South Metro Mississippi TMDL Project Open House: The MPCA will present an update on the South Metro Mississippi TMDL project at an open house on May 4, 2011 from 3:30-7:30 pm at the Merriam Park Library, 1831 Marshall Ave. in St. Paul, hosted by the Friends of the Mississippi and National Park Service.   • Credit River Water Quality Open House, April 26, 2011, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the McColl Pond Environmental Learning Center in Savage. More information is on the Credit River Turbidity TMDL web page.
  • January 5, 2011, 1:30 to 3:30 or 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Little Rock Lake TMDL Project Public Stakeholder Meeting, Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School Community Art Center, 901 1st Street South, Sauk Rapids, MN 56379.  Presentation on the water quality study result, future goals and implementation strategies discussion.  Please see Public Meeting Flyer for more information and driving directions.
  • January 11, 2011, 6 pm. Lake St. Croix TMDL Project Final Stakeholder Meeting, Hudson, WI City Hall. Presentation on the Preliminary Draft Lake St Croix TMDL Report (6:30-7 pm) and on the Developing the Stakeholder Engagement Strategy for Implementation Planning (7-7:30 pm) with questions at 7:30 pm. 
  • There will be a public meeting for the Ann and Emma Lake Nutrient TMDL project at 7:30 p.m. on November 18, 2010 at the Victor Town Hall located approximately 1.5 miles south of Howard Lake on County Road 6.
  • The High Island Creek Impaired Biota TMDL Project will hold a public meeting to present data collected during the 2009-2010 monitoring seasons. The data will be used to determine stressors to the fish community of High Island Creek. The meeting will be held at the Sibley County Service Center located at 111 8th Street in Gaylord, Minnesota on November 19, 2010 at 10:00 am.

Previous Meetings and Events

  • August 18, 2010 there will be 2 meetings to discuss monitoring and modeling results for the Ann/Emma Lakes TMDL project. Both meetings will be held at the Victor Town Hall which is located 1 mile south of Howard Lake. Both meetings will cover the same material.  The first meeting is at 3:00 p.m. and the second will begin at 6:00 p.m.

  • Silver Lake TMDL Project Public meeting to review the Silver Lake TMDL and draft Implementation Plan - Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 5:30 pm,St. Anthony City Hall
  • Chippewa River Watershed Stakeholder Meeting: Wednesday, Tuesday, December 1, 2009, 1:00pm, McKinneys on Southside in Benson, 300 14th St S, Benson, MN 56215. This first stakeholder meeting will cover portions of the turbidity TMDL that have been drafted to date.   • Pomme de Terre Public Meeting: November 23, 2009 at 6:00 pm at the Old #1 Southside Bar and Grill, 412 Atlantic Avenue, Morris MN 56267, to present the draft turbidity TMDL to the public and to receive input.
  • Lac qui Parle Public Stakeholder Meetings: Two public meetings are being held to introduce the TMDL project on November 24, 2009 . The first meeting is from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm at the Canby Community Center, 110 Oscar Avenue North, CanbyMN 56220. The second meeting is from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Madison VFW, 711 2nd Street, Madison MN 56256.
  • Big Sandy TMDL informational meeting: Friday, September 25, 2009, from 2-4 pm, Fireside Restaurant in McGregor, MN.
  • April 14, 2008: West Fork Des Moines Public Meetings, 2:30 & 6:30 p.m. Displays andinformation will be available the first half hour of both meetings; formal presentations will begin at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively. First Meeting: 2:30 p.m., Location: Murray County Fairgrounds (gray 4-H building), South Broadway Avenue, Slayton, MN.
