Mercury Removal

Any mercury in your home can pose a risk for accidental spills, poisoning and home contamination, especially putting children and pets in harm’s way. Mercury-containing items are to be properly disposed of through local household hazardous waste collection programs. Prevention is the best policy for safety!

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency offers this Toolkit for HHW program managers, educators and communication staff to easily adapt in order to promote removal of toxic household products and better protect kids and pets from exposure. Alternative products are also provided to encourage reduced purchase of any items containing mercury.
