Long Prairie Groundwater Contamination Superfund Site
The Long Prairie Ground Water Contamination Superfund Site consists of a 0.16 acre of chlorinated solvent contaminated soil located behind a former drycleaning facility. The site has an approximately four-thousand foot plume of chlorinated solvents. The former drycleaning facility was located just south of Central Avenue and west of Third Street Northeast in downtown Long Prairie and it operated from 1949 to mid-1984. The plume extends northeast and then north-northwest toward the Long Prairie River.
