May 2012: The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) requests proposals for projects to increase collection of household electronic waste (e-waste) outside the 11-county metro area (Anoka, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Hennepin, Isanti, Ramsey, Scott, Sherburne, Washington, and Wright counties), where opportunities for e-waste collection are not easily accessible. This competitive funding opportunity is offered as part of the FY2012-2013 Environmental Assistance grant round.

Application deadline: 2 p.m. CST, June 14, 2012
- Available: Approximately $135,000
- Required match: At least 25%
- Eligible applicants: Retailers with locations in the non-metro area.
- Preferred proposals: Retailers with locations in the non-metro area, which could include a consortium of retailers, who are currently not registered with the Minnesota e-waste program.
- Eligible capital costs (i.e., structures and equipment) are limited to not more than ten percent (10%) of the project costs without prior MPCA approval.
