The MPCA collects a wide variety of information about the quality of Minnesota lakes, rivers and streams.
Permit, licenses and certifications
- Construction stormwater permit data. Find information about permits for discharging stormwater from construction sites.
- Industrial stormwater permit information access. Find information about industrial stormwater discharge permittees and their permits.
- SSTS: Find licensed businesses and certified individuals authorized to design, install or maintain subsurface sewage treatment systems (SSTS), commonly known as septic systems.
- What's in My Neighborhood?. Find information about regulated facilities or sites in an area of interest, including the site types listed below. To list sites of a given type, choose the "text search" option, then select the appropriate "activity type."

Water quality data
- Citizen monitoring individual site report data. Access citizen-collected water quality data, reports and graphs for individual lake and stream monitoring sites throughout the state.
- Monitoring station data. View or download data from a particular monitoring station (lake or stream).
- Water unit assessment data. Find the most recent MPCA assessment results and information summarizing water quality during the last 10 years.
- Impairment lists : Search the Inventory of Impaired Waters to create a list of water quality impairments — by geographic area, pollutant, or other search criteria.
- Impaired waters map: Use an interactive map to identify the impaired waters in an area of interest. View impairment details for any impaired assessment unit you select.
- Watershed restoration and protection project lists. List TMDL/watershed strategy projects by geographic area and/or current project status.
- Watershed restoration and protection specific project. Find the MPCA webpage that provides additional information about a particular watershed strategy project (including older TMDL-only projects).
