Permit, licenses, and certifications

  • SSTS: Find licensed businesses and certified individuals authorized to design, install or maintain subsurface sewage treatment systems (SSTS), commonly known as septic systems.
  • What's in My Neighborhood?. Find information about regulated facilities or sites in an area of interest, including the site types listed below. To list sites of a given type, choose the "text search" option, then select the appropriate "activity type."
    • Construction stormwater projects
    • Feedlots
    • Industrial stormwater dischargers
    • MS4 (municipal separate storm sewer system) projects
    • Wastewater dischargers

Water quality data

  • Water unit assessment data. Find the most recent MPCA assessment results and information summarizing water quality during the last 10 years.
  • Impairment lists: Search the Inventory of Impaired Waters to create a list of water quality impairments — by geographic area, pollutant, or other search criteria.
  • Impaired waters map: Use an interactive map to identify the impaired waters in an area of interest. View impairment details for any impaired assessment unit you select.
