Highlights
- The state's total waste generation was 6.14 million tons (+0.8%), while state population increased 0.6%.
- Per capita generation was essentially unchanged: 2,334 pounds of waste and recycleables for each Minnesota resident.
- The state's SCORE recycling rate is 49.5%.
- Statewide collection of recycleable materials totaled 2,586,398 tons (+47,113 tons).
- After recycling, 3.56 million tons of waste remained for disposal: Landfills (60%) and waste-to-energy facilities (34%) handled most of it.
- State and county spending on SCORE-related programs rose to $55.9 million (+$1.45 million).
