On October 25, 2011, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) Citizens' Board voted to approve the Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law, and Order, as amended during the board meeting, approving the issuance of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)/State Disposal System (SDS) Permits MN0031879 and MN0055948, as amended by the board, to the United State Steel Corporation, Minnesota Ore Operations - Keetac facility in Keewatin, Minnesota. The amended Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law, and Order document conclude that the decision to issue the amended NPDES/SDS Permits satisfied the requirements of Minn. Stat. chs. 115 and 116, Minn. R. chs. 7000 and 7001, and applicable federal regulations.
