St. Paul, Minn. – The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is seeking comments on a draft air emissions permit for the Metro Transit Light Rail O&M Facility, located at 1810 E. Franklin Ave. in Minneapolis. The public comment period runs from April 12, 2011 to May 26, 2011.
The permit is for construction and operations at Metro Transit’s current operations and maintenance facility. Operations include a booth for spray-painting light rail vehicles, maintenance of light rail vehicles, natural-gas-fired heating equipment, and an emergency generator.'\
A public information meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 12, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the draft permit. The meeting will be held at Plymouth Congregational Church, 1900 Nicollet Ave. in Minneapolis. It will begin with a short presentation at 6:30 p.m. followed by time for questions until 8:00 p.m.
Comments on the draft air emissions permit must be received in writing at the MPCA by 4:30 p.m. on May 26, 2011.

A copy of the draft permit is available on the MPCA’s Website at /news/data/index.cfm?PN=1. Any interested person can also obtain a copy by making the request in writing to the MPCA. Additional materials relating to the issuance of this permit are available for review by appointment at the MPCA, 520 Lafayette Road N. in St. Paul, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
