St. Paul, Minn. -- The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is hosting an open house and informational meeting on June 29, 2010 regarding a recently revised law that requires the MPCA to consider cumulative pollutant levels and effects prior to issuing permits in a part of South Minneapolis. The meeting will be held at All Nations Indian Church, 1515 East 23rd Street, Minneapolis, Minn.
An open house will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. with an information meeting beginning at 6:30. During this time, MPCA staff will present an overview of the Minnesota Statute (116.07, subd. 4A) changes and what this means for the permitting process in the future. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation. The MPCA would also like to gather community input that will assist in drafting a process for meeting these requirements.
