MPCA Extends Public Comment Period for MinnErgy Ethanol EAW, Permits

St. Paul, Minn. -- The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) has extended the public comment period on the Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for the proposed MinnErgy ethanol facility at Eyota, Minn. The extended comment period will end on Aug. 1, 2008 at 3:30 p.m.
The draft MPCA water discharge permit for the facility went on public notice June 16, 2008, and the draft air emissions permit will be on notice soon. Comment periods for the permits will end at the same time as the EAW. MPCA officials decided to extend the comment period because the draft permits went on notice later than planned.
The MPCA will hold a public informational meeting on the proposed facililty at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the Dover-Eyota High School in Eyota. Copies of the EAW are available for review on the MPCA's Web site at www.pca.state.mn.us/news/eaw/index.html.
