St. Paul, Minn. -- The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) concluded 67 enforcement cases totaling $644,692 in penalties during the fourth quarter of 2007. The cases occurred at facilities in 36 counties throughout Minnesota. For all of 2007, MPCA enforcement staff concluded 219 cases with a total penalty amount of $1,775,521. Those cases occurred at facilities in 64 of Minnesota's 87 counties. The following is a brief summary of all 67 cases completed during the fourth quarter of 2007:

· $70,000 - Badger Foundry, Winona, for air quality violations.
· $27,000 - Northern Metal Recycling LLC, St. Paul, for hazardous and solid waste, above ground storage tank, and stormwater violations.
· $15,052 - City of Appleton Wastewater Treatment Facility, for water quality violations.
· $10,000 - MGT Products, Joseph Miller, Burnhamville Township, for feedlot violations.
· $10,000 - Lake County Highway Department, Westover Road, for stormwater violations.
· $10,000 - Scott County, S.M. Hentges and Sons Inc., New Market, for stormwater violations.
· $10,000 - Bob's Econo-Pump, Curt Monson, Bemidji, for individual septic treatment system violations.
· $9,200 - Intex Corp., Hennepin County (five sites), for air quality violations.
· $9,100 - City of Walker, for stormwater violations.
