The popular Eco Experience is back at the Great Minnesota Get Together! Last year, more than 350,000 fairgoers made the inaugural Eco Experience the second most popular exhibit at the Fair. A collaboration of the Minnesota State Fair, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and scores of green organizations and businesses across the state, the Eco Experience is the largest and most-attended educational exhibit of green technologies, products and practices in the country. The exhibit received international acclaim, winning awards from the Western Fairs Association, the International Association of Fairs and Expositions, and the Minnesota Environmental Initiative, to name a few. This year, Eco Experience visitors can:
· See an outdoor, working rain garden next to the 123-foot tall wind turbine blade.
· Kids can fish for clean water messages in a new water exhibit that demonstrates how their personal choices matter.
· Take a tour of a newly designed Eco House to learn about green building.
· Sample delicious, local and organic food.
· Get the dirt on their family's waste at Trash Mountain.
· Check out the future of transportation, including new vehicles, fuels and hydrogen.
· Relax at the Sustainability Stage with environmentally-charged musicians and speakers all day, every day. Look for more information and schedules later in July. Until then, check out www.ecoexperience.org to get your green on! About the Eco Experience
The Eco Experience is a 25,000-square-foot exhibit devoted entirely to educating visitors on ways to lessen their environmental footprint. Complete with lush rain gardens, a cutting-edge eco home, and displays on renewable energy, organic products and services, the Eco Experience is the one place to stop and learn about adopting a "greener" lifestyle. The Eco Experience is presented by the Minnesota State Fair and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency - helping Minnesotans protect the environment since 1967. Bring your family, bring a friend and get your green on!
