MORE INFORMATION: WCCO's Don Shelby will announce the winners of the 2006 Governor's Awards for Excellence in Waste and Pollution Prevention and Governor's MnGREAT awards. The annual Governor's Awards honor superior environmental performance by Minnesota's businesses, nonprofits, and private institutions. This year, six winners will be recognized.
Thirteen governmental organizations and their employees will be honored with Minnesota Government Reaching Environmental Achievements Together (MnGREAT) Awards. MnGREAT Awards acknowledge environmental achievements by government employees in the areas of pollution prevention, toxicity reduction, waste reduction, energy conservation, water conservation, recycling and composting.
