Visit MPCA Booth at Living Green Expo, Midwest's Largest Comprehensive Environmental Event

Contact: Laurie Gustafson, (651) 215-0230 ST. PAUL, Minn. -- What do worm composting and the Air Quality Index have in common? You can learn about both of these and more at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's booth at the fifth annual Living Green Expo, May 6 and 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Grandstand Building at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Falcon Heights. The building will come alive with futuristic vehicles, a music and dance stage, and food that's out of this world -- all free and family-friendly. On both days, the first 200 families to attend will receive a free Blue Sky Guide: The Coupon Book for Healthy Living, a $20 value. The Expo will feature many sustainable products and services created by local companies. These include exhibits and workshops on transportation, energy, home building and remodeling, food, yard and garden, lifestyle and recreation, household products and practices, sustainability education, and arts and culture, as well as fun for children and teens. More than 200 exhibitors make this the largest comprehensive environmental event in the Midwest. New exhibitors this year include Daisy Glass, Natural Built Home, Eco-Chic Boutique, and Purrfect Play. Also making news will be the Expo's first Eco-Fashion Show, on Saturday, May 6, at 2:00 p.m. The show will feature the latest in clothing and accessories from local "green" clothiers, such as Wild Rose Farm, Birch Clothing, Patagonia, Brown Belly, and Eco-Sprouts. The Living Green Expo is a collaboration of government agencies, nonprofit groups and businesses, led by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, that seek to promote sustainability-oriented products and behaviors in Minnesota.
